Before the photoshoot
In order to achieve satisfaction from both parties a clear understanding must be established. So, to avoid disappointments, prior to the photoshoot I will ask you certain questions to understand your needs. You may and should prepare your own questions or read some examples here.
What I may ask you:
- Your preferences in photography styles – what appeals to you the most?
- Your dislikes in photos – what do you want to stay away from?
- Your expectations – what emotion, feeling, look you would like to portray in the images?
- The must-have things, poses or captured moments.
- Reference images – are there any particular images that you like? What do you like about them?
- How much time do you expect the photoshoot to be? – this is important for me to get everything prepared ahead in case of a rush photoshoot.
Now let’s focus on you. The most important thing – Do not assume. Ask.
What you may ask:
- The cost – it’s better to discuss all possible situations and options prior to the photoshoot – sitting fee, print fees, packages, inclusions and exclusions, time allowance and rates for additional time.
- Location (if it is a portrait session), and traveling fee (for a distance photoshot).
- Retouching – ask about this option (if wanted) and if it’s included in the price or not. If not wanted – make sure to advise the photographer of that.
- When to expect the images? Access to final images. Delivery options.
- The contract – terms and conditions (including the copyright).
